HIIT Helps You Lose Weight

Research findings have shown that you can lose fat with HIIT. One study looked at 13 trials and 424 individuals who were overweight and obese. Interestingly, it was noticed that body fat, and both HIIT and conventional moderate-intensity exercise can decrease waist circumference. One study also showed that, without any dietary modifications, individuals doing HIIT three times a week for 20 minutes – 30 minutes per session lost 4.4lbs or 2 kgs of body fat in 12 weeks. The 17% reduction in visceral fat, or the disease-promoting fat covering your internal organs, was perhaps more significant.

Several other studies also suggest that with HIIT, body fat can be decreased despite the relatively low time commitment. However, in overweight or obese individuals, HIIT may be the most effective for fat loss, like other exercise types.
