HIIT Can Reduce Blood Sugar
HIIT programs lasting less than 12 weeks can reduce blood sugar. A review of 50 separate studies showed that HIIT decreases blood sugar and increases the tolerance of insulin more than standard continuous exercise. Based on this knowledge, it is likely that high-intensity exercise is especially beneficial for those at risk of type 2 diabetes.
Several studies have shown the efficacy of HIIT in improving blood sugar, especially in people with type 2 diabetes. However, research in healthy people shows that HIIT may be able to enhance insulin resistance even more than conventional continuous exercise.
